The Galletta's Go-Karts Fall Points Race Challenge:
With the summer season over, school, work, and weather getting in the way of big racing events, we had a small "Fall Points Challenge" series, which wound up being just 2 races. Top-3 Lap-led points won't count, just final order of each race. Below are the two races.Galletta's 2007 Race #18: Gary M./Ogre Retirement 45 (11/4/2007):
Chris "The Cerebral Chrusher" Stevens won his fourth feature of the 2007 Oswego Karting season (three at Galletta's and one at Oswego), The Gary Miller/Ogre Retirement 45-Lapper on 11/4/2007. Chris won in the Galletta's #4, which used to be his regular kart in 1996 until he started using the Galletta's #2, the same time that Wes "Ogre" Stevens switched to the #4 permanently. However, Ogre is now retired due to his bone-crushing accident during the Klassic, and Chris's sore back needed the #4's soft cushy seat.
2007 Volume #19 DVD:
Contains November 11th, 2007 races at Galletta's and a bonus: The 10/31/2005 Halloween Haunted Trail. The disc completes with either a recap of the season or the final "Winter" Galletta's race (pending; not yet finalized until last 2007 race is decided).
The majority of the feature was led by pole-sitter Gary Miller Jr., who ran an incredible race in the Galletta's #6 until he lost the fast groove in a loose patch late. Matt Stevens started the race in the Galletta's #7, but after succumbing to throttle-sticking problems, changed into his usual #33 and was knocking on his brother's door late, which Chris slammed shut. Notes: Gary Miller Sr. claims that this was his retirement race, but we think he'll race in select shows whenever he visits Oswego. Russ Hockey went for a wild ride in his #00 late in the race. The track was smoother than it's been in years, making for a great, clean race with all veterans! Final order of finish: 1st - Chris Stevens (#4) | 2nd - Matt Stevens (#33/#7) | 3rd - Gary Miller Sr. (#24) | 4th - Russ Hockey (#1/#00) | 5th - Gary Miller Jr. (#6) | Melissa Gabel (#3) | 7th - Nick Dann (#86/#68, laps down) | 8th - Dick Dann (#86, DNF) | 9th - Mike Howell (#5/#0, DNF). Points will be updated at a later date.
Galletta's 2007 Race #17: The Post-Klassic 65-Lapper (10/6/2007):
Matt Stevens won the Post-Klassic 65-Lapper on 10/6/2007 in his backup, the Galletta's #3. He was followed by 2nd - Dick Dann (Dann #86) | 3rd - Chris Stevens (Galletta's #8) | 4th - Russ Hockey (Galletta's #6/2) | 5th -Nick Dann (Galletta's #68) | 6th - Larry Phillips (Phillips/Hockey #00) | 7th - Mike Howell (Galletta's #0/1/9, DNF) | 8th - Oscar Berry (Berry #11, DNF) | 9th - Chad Leroy (Galletta's #7, DNF) | 10th - Ryan Coleman (Galletta's #9) | and 11th - Buddy Cottom (Galletta's #1, DNF & DQ for swerving off the track in traffic). Chad Leroy and Oscar Berry won the two heats.
This race is a "bonus race" on the end of Galletta's Go-Karts 2007 Volume #16 DVD (which also contains the pre-Klassic 9/10/2007 event). Contact Chris to purchase any of our DVD-Rs today!
2007 Volume #16 DVD:
Contains the September 10th, 2007 and the post-Klassic October 6th, 2007 races at Galletta's.

The 2007 Summer Season at Galletta's Go-Kart Speedway is over after the Klassic annually, which finalizes The Summer Stock Karting Championship of Oswego County Points Standings. At the end of the Galletta's Fall Season, I will compile the Galletta's, Oswego total points to see the overall champion. Now, due to Ogre's injury and the lack of interest by enough drivers, we are unsure if we will have any more races this year at all. However, we hold Fall Points Challenge races if enough people are interested and the weather holds (Saturday afternoons with 10+ veteran drivers is preferable, otherwise no race; we aren't like those other classes who race on an itty-bitty teeny-weenie tiny track with 3-5 people and think they're any good. To try and schedule a race, either call Matt or Chris and/or post on the message board. I would prefer Saturday afternoon races if at all, no Sunday races in the Fall. Thank you to everybody who has raced this year and a double-thanks for all that plan to continue to race more.
